CMM and Optical Measurement for Die Inspection
Gantry CMMs, articulated arms and optical measurement serve different inspection tasks. Methods are selected for the die or part requirements, with corresponding records retained.
Dimensional inspection of dies and parts connects the measured object with inspection datums and acceptance requirements. Jinjian Auto Dies's inspection material presents gantry CMMs, articulated arms and optical measurement applications.
Selecting a method for the object
Measurement methods differ in contact conditions, measurement range and on-site operation. Drawings and the condition of the object inform the measurement locations, positioning method and items to record. Results obtained under different conditions should not be treated as directly interchangeable.
Using records to follow up issues
Inspection images and records support dimensional checks and issue investigation. A deviation needs to be reviewed against the applicable datum, measurement conditions and physical structure. Findings can then be passed to the relevant machining or tryout stage.
Dimensional measurement is part of quality inspection. Measurement plans, inspection items and acceptance requirements follow the technical documents for the product and die.
